The Word According to Josh | July 2010

By Josh Singletary

Six months down, six to go.  Year 2010 is half over.  A half year’s work has come and gone.  …or, for some people, a half year of no work has come and gone.

…work…

…no work…

…still a half year…

…it’s hot…

…even in Maine…

We were just in the New England states.

I have to admit, the East Coast is about as exciting for us to visit as the West Coast.  Both trips are two of our favorite trips of the year.  The appreciation and reception is inexplicable.

Now, that’s not disregarding the South… It’s just great to be reminded that our music stretches from one corner of this country to the other.

Off topic:  Why can you NEVER buy a box of Frosted Mini-“wheat squares” (just for copyright purposes) in which ALL of the wheat squares are heartily covered in frosting??… they should call it Partially Frosted Mini-“wheat squares”.

AAAAAAAAAANNNDDD, did you know that New Jersey was originally called Albania??

At any rate, I’m looking forward to this summer.

I wish I could be home for the 4th but, we’re gone and I’ll miss all of the great (and not so great) fireworks at home.

One of my favorite things to do is to ride around town and watch all of the private yard fireworks.  There’s just something about home fireworks that make it all the more fun.

Happy July!

Born and raised in small town Raiford, FL, Josh Singletary had an interest in music since day one.  He began his life long study of music, with focus on the piano, at age 6 and has been singing just as long.  Age 7 he began his relationship with the Lord.

In March of 2001, Josh moved to Nashville, TN to be pianist for The Wilburns.  He remained until the retirement of Jackie and Elaine Wilburn.  In 2006 he, Wilburn alumni, Gary Casto and Arkansas native, Dennis Dugger started the award winning Tribute Quartet.

Josh currently resides in Nashville, TN…well, actually Hermitage.  BUT, not THE Hermitage, because they don’t let people live there anymore – (without purchasing a ticket)…it’s President Andrew Jackson’s home.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go here: www.thehermitage.com… that’s all.
