(Nashville, TN ) The Nashville based quartet The Farm Hands were honored Thursday morning with a proclamation from the Senate of the State of Tennessee and were invited to perform on the Senate floor.
The proclamation, presented during the morning session by Senator Kerry Roberts of Springfield, was to honor The Farm Hands for the contributions they have made to bluegrass music and as musical ambassadors of Tennessee.Senator Roberts introduced the band, acknowledging their many national awards and nominations including the SPBGMA 2017 Entertainers of the Year Award. Then, then band performed “Dig In The Dirtâ€, the title song of their most recent Pinecastle recording and the 2017 Bluegrass Song of the Year. The Farm Hand’s Tim Graves said, “We are so honored and humbled by both the proclamation and the opportunity to perform on Capitol Hill. We are proud to call Tennessee our home and thankful to be able to take a little bit of Tennessee to the places across the nation where we perform.†The newest album by The Farm Hands, “Colorsâ€, will be released in June on Pinecastle Records.
