The World According To Josh Bio – Josh Singletary Born and raised in small town Raiford, FL, Josh Singletary had an interest in music since day one. He began his life long study of music, with focus on the piano, at age 6 and has been singing just as long. Age 7 he began his relationship with the Lord. In March of 2001, Josh moved to Nashville, TN to be pianist for The Wilburns. He remained until the retirement of Jackie and Elaine Wilburn. In 2006 he, Wilburn alumni, Gary Casto and Arkansas native, Dennis Dugger started the award winning Tribute Quartet. Josh currently resides in Nashville, TN…well, actually Hermitage. BUT, not THE Hermitage, because they don’t let people live there anymore - (without purchasing a ticket)…it’s President Andrew Jackson’s home. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go here: www.thehermitage.com... that’s all. |

Well, it IS Summer! It is warm....ok, HOT! It’s so hot here…….actually, I make it sound worse than what it really is. It’s not bad…but, it was bad in Florida! …at least bad by my standards… The other day, Clearwater, FL reached a record high (and it could change from now until you read this) …a record high of….114 °F!!!! ……… 114!!! …that’s…uh…45.55 °C for those who don’t use °F… …global warming???... I don’t know but, I’m glad I’m saved! I love this time of year…(not necessarily for the heat)… but, for the cookouts, the pool, working outside on those nice sunny 82 °F (27.78 °C) days with no clouds and a slight breeze… MAN, I love it! I like the cold too, though. Not the wet cold….the DRY cold! Growing up in Florida it actually got pretty cold. I can hear some of you Northerners right now saying, “AWWWW, you don’t know what cold is!!!”… Oh, yes I do!...you forget what it is I do for a living. Those ridiculous -30 °F (-34.44 °C) days …oh, yes…I know those days VERY well. But, in Florida, we had the wet, damp, go-all-the-way-to-the-bone kinda cold. At 20 °F (-6.67 °C) --- ok, I wish that they’d decide on which degree measurement that everybody is going to use! --- ANYWHO, at 20 °F, that wet, damp weather is a make-ya-shiver kind of cold!!... And I don’t care how you slice it…er, cover it up, I don’t like that. BUT, since this has turned into a “what I like and what I don’t like” piece, I like old comedies… I don’t mean everything within the last 30 years (though, I’m fond of some) … I mean your Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, The Marx Brothers, Hope and Crosby, Burns and Allen, Martin and Lewis, The Little Rascals (Our Gang), Red Skelton, Jack Benny, Danny Kaye, Harold Lloyd, Victor Borge, even Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. You just can’t beat some of that OLD (no offense to those who witnessed the original reeling of some of those) comedy! …good, CLEAN …funny! Ok, you tell me what you like…all together now… On the count of three, look into the computer screen… and say what you like………..all in unison (so, listen for the other people). …are you ready???... I’M SERIOUS!, tell me what you like. Don’t type it or email it…. Say it into the computer……. Are you ready now? ---- well, shut the door so no one will hear... OK, here we go. On the count ---- you’re not taking this seriously ---- …ok, whisper it… One, Two, Thr… Well, my time is up and you need to get back to work… (uh-huh, I caught some of you!) I’m going to learn Celsius without having to look it up…I’m just kidding. I’m not going to learn it, ‘cause I don’t think I’ll use it. My world stays at an odd temperature anyway. (as if you didn’t already know)
