What’s Going On?

Well, March is here and with it has come loads of winter weather that has been bombarding all parts of the United States. It seems we have been overwhelmed all across the country with winter storms that have been a little daunting to venture out into elements.  I know it has been challenging for gospel groups who are on the road full-time, doing their best to make it to each concert date in order to be a blessing to each of you who are in attendance.

Despite the weather elements, gospel music keeps pressing on and more and more concerts are coming to your area for you to enjoy. I want to highlight a few of those concerts in and around different areas of California. Kicking off the first of March is Tribute Quartet who will be in concert on March 6^th in Modest, CA at the North Modesto Church of God along with The Herb Henry Family, Richland Trio and Sherri Stambaugh. From there, Tribute will move onto Fair Oaks & Redding, CA and several other west coast states before heading home. If you’re not familiar with Tribute Quartet, they are a group based out of Goodlettsville, Tennessee. They’re a great group of guys with an awesome sound and wonderful message of “preserving the heritage and promoting the future of Southern Gospel music.” They are definitely well worth the effort to attend one of their concerts. The next evening, March 7^th, Mike & Darla Cornell will be in Sacramento at Victory Tabernacle. Mike & Darla are very familiar to the readers here and would love the chance to meet some of you who attend. The Cornells have some other concert dates later on in the month if you miss the 7^th. The Chordsmen who are will be in concert in Fresno on the 19^th at New Covenant Church at 7pm. Then headed towards the end of the month The Melody Boys Quartet will be passing through the west coast stopping off in Gerber, Grass Valley, Modesto and two appearances in Fresno before heading east again. Finally, one of my favorite groups, The Herb Henry Family, will have several dates throughout the month of March as well. Please check their site for more information at www.herbhenryfamily.com and also, a great group that has come out of the Richland Faith Assembly of God, the home church for the Herb Henry Family, is The Richland Trio. I will be featuring the trio in next month’s article but if you want to get a jump start on getting to know this awesome group, they will be in concert with Tribute Quartet and the Henry Family on the 6^th of March, then in Stockton on March 20^th at Word of Life Church.
