The Bridge Ministry Bio – Tara Jackson

Tara Jackson is Southern Gospel artist, who aspires to make music that will reach to the heart of every individual, and to see people’s lives changed by the power of God.  Her heart for ministry is rooted deeply in a loving family where ministering through music was simply a way of life.  Tara says, “I am committed to sharing Christ, and living my life as a testimony of how greatly God can use His children to share His love.”

The Bridge Ministry is an incredible organization founded by Candy Christmas that Tara feels blessed to be a part of each week.  Being a part of this exciting and very worthwhile ministry has further solidified the calling that Tara feels God has placed on her life to minister to people through song.  One of the most exciting things for Tara each week is singing with Candy Christmas as a part of The Bridge Ministry, and seeing the faces of those that come light up when they are told that they are loved…not only by the people from the ministry, but by God himself.  “To be a part of telling people that they have hope in Christ, and that there is a God that loves them with no exceptions, is amazing and very humbling.”

Tara Jackson currently resides in Nashville, TN, with her husband, Kyle Jackson.  She and her husband own Jackson Management Agency, which is a new artist management and booking company for the independent Christian artist.

Everywhere on the news, they keep telling us how bad things are and that it is just going to get worse.  It is a story of doom and gloom and not hope.  But we can help change that if we reach out and help one another.  We can make a difference by giving of ourselves, our time, and that which God has blessed us with.

As I was walking around the Bridge Ministry warehouse this month, it became glaringly obvious that the normal overwhelming amount of food was not there.  Candy told me that due to donations being down at Second Harvest Food Bank (now known as Feeding America), our food supply is low as well.  The lack of donations and funding definitely has a trickle down effect, as evidenced by the empty warehouse shelves.  Most of the food that we have at the warehouse is purchased from organizations like Feeding America (Second Harvest) or Feed the Children, and those organizations are at record lows for food and monetary donations.

According to statistics on Feeding America’s website (http://www.feedingamerica.org), 1 in 8 people in America experience hunger in a debilitating way.  We know from past experience of the children at the Vena Stuart Elementary School that some children will go hungry from Friday until lunch at school on Monday.  With the food at the warehouse, we are able to help put together the boxes so that they can have food over the weekend.  Since the food is in short supply, it can make it more difficult to fill the boxes for the kids.  Thankfully with God’s provision, the food is there.  But you can help and make a difference by a monetary donation, giving of food, organizing a food drive and so much more!

To learn more about what you can do to help the Bridge Ministry, visit www.bridgeministry.org, and to learn how to donate your time, money, or food to Feeding America/Second Harvest, visit www.feedingamerica.org.  Giving even just $1 to Feeding America helps supply ten pounds (10 lbs) of grocery products which other oranizations, such as the Bridge Ministry, can then purchase to distribute.  Giving to the Bridge Ministry also helps us continue to minister to those under the Jefferson Street Bridge and beyond!  Please pray for God’s leading in how He would have you to donate whether it be your time, money, or in other ways.

Until Next Month,
Blessings,
Tara Jackson :)
