Two-Twelve
At 211º water is hot.  At 212 degrees water boils.....creating steam.. which can power a train... the difference?  One degree.  Effort? or Extra Effort.  In the Christian walk, we can live life... or a Victorious life! The difference between 211 and 212...is one degree... we ALL need to strive to be at 212º.

We all have childhood memories. I have admitted that as a child I was in trouble quite often. My backside and JC Hutson's belt knew each other pretty well.

I loved Matchbox cars, action figures and a blue sweater.

This blue sweater was probably a "hand me down" but I loved it. I loved it so much, that I had to wear it everyday. It looked terrible because I wore it so much that it had holes in it. My mom would say; "That thing looks awful Virgil Bryan." She even threw it in the garbage a couple of times. But I HAD to wear it. I would dig it out of the trash! She would take out needle and thread and fix the holes. Why? Because she loved me.

I wore it to school, town, and one Sunday at church...while standing along side of my dad singing "Keep On The Firing Line." I would sing at the top of my lungs! The words in the chorus are "You must fight, be brave against all evil, never run nor even lag behind...” I didn't know the words so I sang; "You must fight, PEE Brain against all evil..." This particular time while we sang, Mom said I would button the sweater, and unbutton it, then button it again.

Mom patched and fixed that sweater until I finally grew out of it.

If I could wear my LIFE like a garment, it might look like that sweater. You could see signs of where it has been "patched and fixed". Where maybe the color has faded from years of weathering life's storms, but the awesome thing is, it still keeps me warm.

Just like my mom fixed that old blue sweater, God uses my mom and others STILL to help "heal" my hurts. God sees when a "thread" is coming unraveled and comes to the rescue.

God uses the utmost care in repairing me. He might send an encouraging word through a nightly devotion, an inspiring thought on the radio while I am in the car, or a song played at the precise moment.

He has also sent others who have had patchwork done themselves to help patch me. They assure me of God's faithfulness and His unconditional love. Often times we feel like we are the only one in the world that is going through this trial. It's those who have weathered the storm who can testify to God's faithfulness and encourage us to hold on til the end.

Psalm 108:4
For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

God uses all those things and MORE to help "patch" my sweater.

Today, take time to thank someone who has helped you during a difficult time. They may need an encouraging word and your prayers and words may help fix their sweater.

John 13:34
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other
.

Now, if I could learn the words to that song. "You must fight, pee brain..."
