A Pastor’s Ponderings : Autocorrect vs Forgiveness

Let’s think about this, just for a moment: everything we put on the internet is there forever, isn’t it? Yes.

Now, what we do on earth is recorded in Heaven. Forever. That’s not a question that is true. We as individuals, Christians, will stand and give an account at the judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor. 5:10). But thank God for the apostle Paul’s encouragement to go and be soul winners, to encourage our brethren (brothers and sisters in Christ), and to be a light to a lost and dying world. We all will be judged (Rev.20:1-8), and whoever doesn’t receive Christ before they pass into eternity will stand at the great white throne and say “Lord, Lord…” (Matt. 7:21-23)

If we were perfect – and no one is as humans – God could’ve put an autocorrect feature in us like a smartphone or the computer which puts red lines on all these words that I misspell.

But He didn’t.

He gave us His Spirit (John 14:17,26), to show us and help us when we are in the wrong. We’re not perfect, but we are forgiven. Grace isn’t a license to sin (Romans 6), but it’s an instrument to help us to make it through each day as Christians.

Take time to thank God each day for His mercy and grace. Thank Him for His Holy Spirit, which tells us and shows us through His word when we need correction. Thank Him for not being a man and not thinking like a man (Isa. 55:8-9).

Autocorrect is man made. Grace, mercy and forgiveness, guess where they come from?

Blessings.
